The National Museum of Natural History and National Air and Space Museum on the National Mall will be open today, Tuesday, February 9.
All other Smithsonian Museums, including the Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, VA, remain closed on Tuesday, February 9.

The National Air and Space Museum offers a variety of public lectures - from daytime curator talks to evening lectures with prominent men and women of aviation and space exploration. Programs are free unless otherwise noted. Occassionally, tickets are required and can be obtained at the Museum box office or through our online request form. See program description for more information.

Lecture Programs:

  • Ask an Expert - brief lectures Wednesdays at the National Mall building and Thursdays at the Udvar-Hazy Center.
  • National Air and Space Society - lectures, book signings & events throughout the year.
  • GE Aviation Lecture Series - guest lecturers every fall and spring.
  • Exploring Space Lectures - scheduled annually.
  • John H. Glenn Lecture - scheduled annually.
  • Charles A. Lindbergh Memorial Lecture - every year during May to celebrate the anniversary of Lindbergh's historic flight on May 21.
