National Air and Space Museum Press Kit
Artifacts on Display at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center
As of June 1, 2007, there were 141 aircraft and 148 large space artifacts, along with more than 1,500 smaller objects, on display in the National Air and Space Museum's Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Virginia. Artifacts at the center are displayed in open hangar settings rather than exhibition galleries. Space history artifacts include armament missiles and rockets used in earth atmosphere.

As of June 1, 2007, 46 aircraft engines were on display in the Udvar-Hazy Center's Boeing Aviation Hangar, at ground-level in the northeast end.
Exhibit Stations/Smaller Artifacts
More than 1,500 smaller artifacts, from uniforms, spacesuits and models to ceramic plates, toys and furniture,
are displayed in cases at the Udvar-Hazy Center. Some cases are incorporated in exhibit stations that provide context,
