Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center Phase Two

January 31, 2008 - Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum Receives Gift for Phase Two of the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center

The extraordinary Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center is a testament to the dedication of our supporters and their belief in our work.  While the first phase of the facility opened to the public in December 2003, now we must turn our attention to completing our vision.

The next phase of the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center construction -- Phase Two -- will include the Mary Baker Engen Restoration Hangar, the Emil Buehler Conservation Laboratory, an Archives, Collections Processing Unit, and Collections Storage Facility. These will be located in a new wing to be added beside both the Aviation and Space Hangars. This new addition will enable the Museum's collections to be better cared for and more accessible to the public.

  Phase Two Includes:
    Mary Baker Engen Restoration Hangar

Archives

    Collections Processing Unit
    Emil Buehler Conservation Laboratory
    Collections Storage Facility

We need your help to make Phase Two a reality!
