The National Air and Space Museum's Interactive
Media Division is a unit within the Planning, Education and
Public Programs Department. Interactive Media is in charge of developing,
designing and managing the Museum's public Web site and electronic outreach efforts. The Division also manages the Museum's web-related digital content management and intranet site, and develops computer-based interactives
and digital displays for exhibition galleries.
Interactive Media efforts emcompass every aspect of the Museum's
activities, including education, collections & research,
exhibitions and visitor services.
Interactive Media is currently working toward a full-scale redesign of the National Air and Space Museum public Web site. The effort will seek to improve the overall usability of the site; expand online educational outreach; increase the variety of and access to Museum resources with a particular focus on collections, exhibition and research; and increase public engagement through the use of social media. Several funding and sponsorship opportunities exist.
