QuickTime VR (QTVR) Artifact Photography at the
National Air and Space Museum's Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center

You Can Help!

The National Air and Space Museum needs your support to continue this important effort. This project represents a unique opportunity to document some of the most important objects in the National collection of aircraft and spacecraft. This has been the largest QuickTime VR project approached by the Smithsonian to date and is unique in its scale among museums.

By supporting this project, you will help the Museum to...

...answer public requests to "see inside the aircraft and spacecraft" a the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center by supporting QuickTime VR programs, interactive displays and online activities.

...photographically document nearly 80% of the National Collection of aviation and space artifacts and make this collection available to the public.

...create new & exciting interactive QTVR programs for a variety of online and Museum-based educational applications.

...use new technology for education, outreach and to enhance the visitor experience.

...extend public outreach beyond the Museum walls to a global audience.

...use this photography to better preserve, conserve and restore priceless aviation and space artifacts.

... engage and educate the public about the significance of aviation and space technology using this exciting and engaging medium.

Funding is still needed to continue capturing panoramic photography of aircraft and spacecraft interiors and process that photography into QTVR panoramic movies. Support is also welcome in terms of web-based display options for content that has already been created. We are particularly interested in new and innovative educational applications.

If you are interested in helping, please contact the National Air and Space Museum's Development Office.
