Hawker
Hurricane - Fuselage
|
 |
October,
1999
Restoration
specialists Dave Wilson (left) and Will Lee (right) demonstrate
the meticulous task of applying reinforcing tape to the aircraft
fuselage and adhering it with dope. As the cotton reinforcing tape
is applied to the linen covered fuselage, the dope bonds and seals
the tape. This process strengthens the fuselage and makes it more
resistant to tearing, water damage and deterioration.

January,
1998
The following three images were taken in January
of 1998. Restoration work at that time was concentrating on the
fuselage. The Hawker Hurricane has since moved to another area of
the restoration shop. |
