Hawker Hurricane - Fuselage
67k JPEG October, 1999
Restoration specialists Dave Wilson (left) and Will Lee (right) demonstrate the meticulous task of applying reinforcing tape to the aircraft fuselage and adhering it with dope. As the cotton reinforcing tape is applied to the linen covered fuselage, the dope bonds and seals the tape. This process strengthens the fuselage and makes it more resistant to tearing, water damage and deterioration.
