Udvar-Hazy, Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution Lawrence
M. Small, and Director of the National Air and Space Museum
John R. Dailey are ready to break ground for the new Udvar-Hazy
Center. The shovel held by Secretary Small was also used to
break ground for the National Air and Space Museum on the
Mall in Washington, DC, which opened in 1976.
