Making the New Museum A Reality
J.
R. Dailey, Director, National Air and Space Museum, pledges
that the new museum will generate awe and respect for this nation's
aviation and space accomplishments. He dedicates a portion of each
day to insuring that the Museum will open in 2003, and he invites
the public to work with him in reaching that goal.
The cost of the project is approximately $311 million,
which includes design, site infrastructure, construction, move-in,
and start-up. The Museum has launched a capital
campaign, to be supported through donations from individuals,
corporations, and foundations. The Commonwealth of Virginia is providing
site infrastructure and roadway improvements -- an essential contribution
to this project.
The Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, like the Museum
on the Mall, will be home to objects from the world's premiere collection
of historic and rare aircraft and spacecraft, but we need the generous
financial support of thousands of individuals who want to help preserve
these artifacts for future generations. Please support the
National Air and Space Museum Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center by making
a tax deductible donation. You can also help by becoming a
member of the Museum's
National Air and Space Society.
