Haley Space Flight Award

The Haley Space Flight Award is presented every other year "for outstanding contributions by an astronaut or test personnel to the advancement of the art, science or technology of astronautics." It is administered by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. Established in 1954 as the Haley Astronautics Award, the trophy was named for Andrew G. Haley, one of the founders of the Aerojet Engineering Corporation. It was designed by Dr. Frank Malina, a pioneer rocket experimenter.
