Trophies and Awards at the
National Air and Space Museum

The Clifford Henderson Award for Achievement

The Clifford Henderson Award for Achievement is awarded annually by the National Aviation Club. The trophy, named after the founder and Managing Director of the National Air Races Clifford Henderson, was originally presented to the outstanding flyer at the air race. The National Aviation Club (part of the National Aeronautic Association) reactivated the award in 1985 to recognize individuals for their outstanding contributions which further the development and advancement of aviation.

Gift of Roscoe Turner

See the National Aeronautic Association web site for a list past recipients of the aeronautic (ballooning) trophy.
