I joined the Smithsonian in March of 2006 as a geologist at the Center for Earth and Planetary Studies at the National Air & Space Museum after completing my Bachelors of Arts and Masters of Arts in Earth and Planetary Science from Washington University in St. Louis. At Wash U., my research focused mainly on geomorphic and spectral mapping of Meridiani Planum, Mars using data sets from various Mars orbiters and landers. During my time there I worked on missions such as the Mars Exploration Rovers (MER), Phoenix Scout Mission, and targeting for the Compact Reconnaissance Imaging Spectrometer for Mars (CRISM) onboard the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO). Since coming to the Smithsonian I've been working with the High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRISE), which is a high resolution camera onboard MRO. I assist with targeting, data analysis, and making maps to be used for geologic and geomorphic analyses for the Martian surface. I’ve also been involved with landing site analysis for the Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) mission, which will be launched in 2009.
In my free time I love traveling, sailing, baking and football (Go Dolphins!).
