Dear Supporters of Aviation and Space History,

The advent of flight forever changed our world and enhanced our lives in ways that were unimaginable only a few generations ago.  Countries and cultures once distant and alien to one another now exchange ideas, goods, and people through flight.  Aviation has led to the technology for space travel, and today we seek new frontiers in distant galaxies.  The science and technology of aviation and space flight have instilled in us the desire and will to reach for these new horizons.

It is truly a remarkable story of human achievement and American leadership.

The mission of the National Air and Space Museum's Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center is to tell the aviation and space flight story vividly and completely, to preserve and restore the priceless artifacts that embody this still young, exhilarating science, and to educate and inspire future generations .

The National Aviation and Space Exploration Wall of Honor at the new Udvar-Hazy Center recognizes and immortalizes the men and women who have made contributions and a commitment to flight.  The Wall of Honor serves as a national monument to honor and memorialize the men and women who have had an interest and passion for flight and space exploration.  It is dedicated to those living and dead who helped lead the way.

We hope that you will consider honoring a family member, a friend, or loved one who played a role in flight or space exploration by having his or her name inscribed on this wonderful monument.

Thank you.

Donald S. Lopez
Deputy Director, National Air and Space Museum
